Clear Creek Memory Care residents bring homemade dog treats to local shelter

Residents of Clear Creek Memory Care in Fayetteville, Arkansas, visited nearby Springdale Animal Services to deliver homemade pet treats, blankets, and toys. With them was Clear Creek’s Chaplain, William Henshaw, author of a new book, “Beyond the Rainbow,” geared towards helping individuals who have lost a pet cope with their grief.

The residents love giving back, especially those who have always owned pets and remember the special bonds they had with them. And they also know how hard it is to lose them.

That’s why it was special to bring William Henshaw with them. He works with individuals, many of them older, who have lost a pet and are experiencing grief and other emotional challenges. “Don’t let people tell you you shouldn’t grieve it because it’s just a pet,” he told local channel KNWA, which covered the event.

For all the details of the visit and to learn more about Henshaw’s work, watch the full coverage by local station KNWA.
