William Budagher, World War II veteran and Purple Heart recipient, recently celebrated his 101st birthday with a big birthday bash at North Ridge Memory Care in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Family and friends joined residents and staff to honor William’s extraordinary life, military service, and enduring legacy in a heartfelt and meaningful celebration.
After returning home from the war, William built a new life in New Mexico, working as a cattle inspector, iron worker, and Christmas tree merchant. While his family is deeply proud of his many accomplishments, they say his greatest role has been that of a loving grandfather.
The celebration featured many of William’s favorite foods, family stories, and lots of expressions of gratitude for both his wartime service and the life he built afterward. It was a joyful tribute to a man whose strength, dedication, and kindness have touched generations.
The celebration was also featured by KOAT TV Channel 7 where viewers can watch coverage of the special occasion.
