A life dedicated to caring for others leaves an enduring legacy. Recently, residents, staff, and families at Concord Place Memory Care gathered for a moving ceremony to honor two remarkable residents and retired nurses, Dottie Ness and Mary Milora.
The East Tennessee Nurse Honor Guard, a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring nurses for their lifetime of service, was on hand to make the tribute, reminding everyone in attendance that nursing is far more than a profession; it is a lifelong calling.
Dottie Ness spent 20 years providing hands-on comfort and care after earning her associate degree in nursing. Mary Milora, RN, BSN, dedicated her distinguished career to serving patients across several hospitals, bringing both exceptional skills and a compassionate spirit to her work.
“This ceremony is a beautiful way to pause and say thank you to nurses who gave so much of themselves to others,” said Lorie Ann Wilson, life engagement director for Concord Place. “Dottie and Mary represent the heart of nursing – compassion, courage, and the steady presence families remember forever. We are honored to celebrate their stories and the care they poured into the lives of so many.”
