Fall is beginning to make its way into our Anthem Memory Care communities, bringing cooler days and the wonderful scent of autumn in the air. Residents have been creating some amazing seasonal artwork and wall decor for our halls and common areas, and have enjoyed collaborating with fellow residents and staff to plan and organize fall programs, outings, and special projects that give back to the greater community.
It’s been a busy (and fun) month for all our communities. Here are some of our favorite activities and special moments:
Vineyard Place Memory Care’s annual school drive in Murrieta, California, was a big success! Residents, families, and staff worked together to collect and distribute supplies for underserved children in the area.
Highline Place Memory Care residents loved getting out and about in Littleton, Colorado, exploring local parks, breathing fresh air, and enjoying their beautiful green surroundings.
Yes, that’s a Willowbrook Place Memory Care resident cuddling a baby kangaroo! A recent visit to Kangaroo Ranch in nearby Wheatridge, Colorado brought so much joy and laughter to residents.
Residents at Chelsea Place Memory Care in Aurora, Colorado love giving back to the broader community. Recently, they got together to create special gift bags for young hospital patients in the area. The bags contained tiny stuffed animals (shown here with a resident) and other goodies.
The art-loving residents at Morningside Place Memory Care in Overland Park, Kansas, enjoyed engaging with a display of paintings and drawings during their visit to the Rice Gallery of Fine Art.
What an amazing turnout at Vineyard Place Memory Care’s Grandparents Day celebration in Murrieta, California! So many families participated, and we especially love this photo of a resident with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren!
Several of our Clear Creek Memory Care residents have always enjoyed fishing, including lifelong fisherman Donnie McDonald (shown above in an earlier photo). That made an afternoon out casting their lines at Clarence Craft Park in Fayetteville, Arkansas, even more special!
Residents of Churchill Place Memory Care in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, enjoyed a beautiful day outdoors exploring Cosley Zoo! From visiting the animals and breathing in the fresh air to walking the trails and spending time together, there were plenty of smiles and special moments along the way.
It was “Dolly Day” at Concord Place Memory Care in Fayetteville, Tennessee. Butterflies everywhere paid tribute to Dolly Parton and gave residents a chance to share the special place she holds in their hearts!
September brought lots of opportunities for residents to connect, engage, and spend meaningful time with each other, families, and the young people who visit our communities regularly. We’re continuing to enjoy the season and look forward to many more special moments to come as we move deeper into fall and closer to the holidays ahead.
