Purpose, Connection and Joy: October in Our Anthem Communities

October brought plenty of opportunities for creativity, connection, and seasonal fun to our Anthem Memory Care communities. Throughout our communities, residents and team members have been celebrating the season by crafting creative autumn decorations, participating in community outreach programs, and getting ready for Halloween Trick-or-Treat visits from local schoolchildren.

The cooler, crisp fall days have given our residents plenty of opportunities to enjoy their walking clubs and special outings to favorite restaurants and other local businesses. It’s been a vibrant, lively month for us, and we’re looking forward to keeping the momentum going into November!

Here are some of our favorite October activities and moments from across our communities:
The Morningside Place Memory Care Walking Club in Overland Park, Kansas, didn’t let a little rain get in their way. These residents have always enjoyed their daily walks, and the club gives them the opportunity to continue doing what they love.

At Vineyard Place Memory Care in Murrieta, California, if it’s fall, it’s time for Oktoberfest! Residents and team members enjoyed an afternoon of music, dancing, delicious German food, and lots of laughter!

Residents of Emerald Place Memory Care in Glenview, Illinois, decided to spread a special message of hope and encouragement for cancer survivors by decorating "positivity pumpkins" to deliver to Gilda's Club of Chicago.

One of the best things about fall for residents of Willowbrook Place Memory Care in Littleton, Colorado, is the decorating! Residents made some colorful leaf wreaths to hang on their walls and doors. Beautiful!

Harvester Place Memory Care residents in Burr Ridge, Illinois, recently enjoyed a visit to a local petting zoo and pony farm. Watching the kids ride ponies and interacting with some friendly farm animals made for a fun, memorable day!

Residents at Highline Place Memory Care in Littleton, Colorado, love playing Jenga. Not only is it a great way to improve concentration and hand-eye coordination, but it's also a lot of fun!

87-year-old Jeanette Sams, a resident of Clear Creek Memory Care in Fayetteville, Arkansas, headed to Ozark Bowling Lanes with fellow residents and staff to show off a little, bowling strikes with ease and confidence. (And she has trophies from her league bowling days to show for it!)

What better day to host an Oktoberfest party than German American Day! Churchill Place Memory Care residents in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, celebrated with great food, music, and lots of special moments.

Anticipation continues to grow for the opening of our brand-new Anthem community, Rancho Springs Memory Care, in Rancho Cucamonga, California! Family Night earlier this month was a huge success as families gathered to enjoy appetizers and mingle with other families.

You know it's truly fall when Willow Springs Memory Care residents in Redding, California, head out to Nash Farm!

As we wrap up October, all eyes are on the upcoming holiday season. That means lots of planning, decorating, and plenty of meaningful projects and fun events. Stay tuned!
